Hillarys Boat Harbour - near to Perth
If you want to try some exceptional Aussie fish and chips, then I would heartily recommend that you go to the Hillarys Boat Harbour. It is about a 15 or 20 minute drive to the north and a very pleasant place to visit. We had time to kill and so we took a ferry journey to the Rottnest Island, before returning for a meal at a waterfront restaurant, where we watched the sun go down. How romantic was that?!

Shopping at Sorrento Quay
When we came to Perth we werre told to visit Sorrento Quay, a few miles to the north, so we did. The ocean waterfront was very attractive and there were quite a few restaurants overlooking the oceanfront. The marina was clearly a very trendy area and there was even a each, when you could swim and go down an exciting looking water slide. We didn't have time, but there were whale watching tours and fishing trips. Maybe next time...

Perth University of Western Australia (UWA)
The University of Western Australia is the state's oldest and was founded in 1911. It moved around 20 years later and is now locaated on the Sterling Hwy. It is very pleasant walking through the campus. If you do, there are some interesting buildings to look out for, like the Winthrop Hall and its tower, and some stunning gardens. There are around 18 students currently based here, which gives you a good idea of the size and what to expect.
